Tangible Gifts
The Library welcomes donations of tangible and intangible personal property, real estate, and even services.
The most common types of tangible personal property contributed to charity include rare books and documents, artwork, jewelry, gems, and other collectibles. Occasionally, motor vehicles, watercraft, and aircraft might be donated. Non-marketable securities (any type of security that is difficult to buy or sell because it does not trade on a normal market or exchange) can be considered gifts.
Giving a gift of real estate, such as a personal home, vacation home, undeveloped property, or a farm, can be a highly effective philanthropic and financial strategy as well as a generous benefit to The Norman Williams Public Library.
Although such gifts as fine art, furniture, real estate, and equipment may be welcome, the decision whether to accept them rests with the Board of Trustees. Please contact us by email or phone 802.457.2295 for more information. Our process for accepting gifts is detailed in the Library Policy.
