The Children’s Room is a great place for families to spend quality time together playing and reading or meet up with friends and make some new ones! In addition to offering the best in youth literature, we also have two Playmobil castles in an ever-changing state of completion, a set of wooden train tracks and toy trains, a marble run, puzzles, board games, building bricks, puppets, and an electric keyboard, all available for use.
Not quite enough to keep you occupied between books? We also offer activities for solo or group enjoyment such as the Locks Box and scavenger hunts. Come check out the display dollhouse with incredible details and our much-loved fish tank.
To promote early literacy among our youngest citizens in the comfort and familiarity of the library, the Youth Services librarians offer programming throughout the year with weekly Story Times and outreach to local nursery school/child care centers.
A vibrant and active community resource that families rely on for educational and social purposes, the Children’s Room provides a safe and engaging after school environment to be with friends, do homework, and pursue special interests. During the summer, the library hosts a Summer Reading Program to sustain childrens’ reading engagement.
To encourage exploration of the region, NWPL offers Museum Passes offering free or reduced entry for patrons to borrow.
