New Books for Our Collection
The Norman Williams Public Library maintains a vibrant collection of books, audiobooks, and movies: fiction and non-fiction, for adults and children. As upcoming publication dates for new materials are announced, we place orders to keep the selection fresh and up to date.
Lately, those of you who have been eagerly awaiting a new release have been frustrated by the tardiness of some arrivals. Our main book supplier – with whom we have worked for decades – has been struggling. They thought they had a buyer to bail them out, but the purchase fell through. This week, all outstanding orders from libraries around the country, including NWPL, have been cancelled!
For the past few months, we have been exploring alternative sources to get books on our shelves. Of course, the Yankee Bookshop is at the top of that list, and they are a delight to work with! Unfortunately, unlike the distributor, they are not equipped to cover and label books to make them “library-shelf-ready” for us.
We appreciate your patience as we set up new systems to obtain the latest book releases in a timely manner!
