The weather forecast is uncertain, but our Shindig will go on as planned – either on the lawn or inside the library if it is stormy.

It’s time to celebrate the stories you discovered this summer and harvest the Potato Plot!

Join us at the Norman Williams Public Library on Saturday, September 26, from 11 am to 1 pm for “Unearth a Story’s Ending” and our “Potato Harvest Shindig.” The Summer Reading Program Raffle Drawing will be at 12:15 (changed from noon); to enter, be sure you have turned in your reading logs.

Gathering on our west lawn for the festivities, we’ll begin the party with Sack Racing, carving Potato Stamps, and other fun spud-themed activities.

We’re collecting Potato Puns & Poems, and maybe a joke or three… Share your favorite or create your own. You can print out our handy sheet, or pick one up in the Children’s Room and at the party.

As a special treat, we invite you to enjoy the French Fry bar (while supplies last) – what better way to eat potatoes?

Then it will be time to harvest the potatoes, and we need your help to dig them out of the dirt. Who knows what fun you may unearth…
