Discover Collage with Heather Wishik
1:00PM - 3:00PM
Explore the techniques of collage with poet and artist Heather Wishik. Learn about play and/or intention as a way to begin; a variety of papers to use; techniques including cutting, tearing and weaving papers; design ideas such as uses of color and pattern; and techniques for successful gluing of papers to the base paper.
Everyone is welcome, whether you have never created a collage or have experience with the techniques. This workshop will be held over two sessions: March 11 and 18, and participants should plan to attend both dates. Space is limited, please PRE-REGISTER by March 1 so we can order supplies in time.
Glue and base paper will be supplied. Please bring:
- pair of sharp scissors
- ruler – 12″ or longer
- old magazines
- photocopy of photographs you would like to incorporate
- any special papers you wish to include: art cards, old calendar illustrations, paintings, or prints
