July 4, 2026
NWPL is closed on July 4th!
Independence Day – known colloquially as the Fourth of July – commemorates the ratification of the Declaration of Independence by the Second Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, establishing the United States of America.
At the Second Continental Congress, the Founding Father declared that the thirteen colonies were no longer subject to King George, III, the monarch of Britain on July 2. Congress voted on the Declaration that they were now united, free, and independent states and it was adopted on July 4.
