Hi, my name is Pati Braun Grandy. I was raised in Randolph Center, Vermont. My love for art started at a young age with encouragement from my parents and a close neighbor. Art was always my favorite subject through Randolph Center grade school. During my years at Randolph Union High School, I continued to enjoy doing art and photography. I was the photographer for our senior yearbook, and was voted Most Artistic in my senior class.
I believe that I have been blessed with a natural ability. My only formal training was a semester at Butera School of Art in Boston and the rest I have learned by just trying new things. I have always been able to see shadows and shapes, which helps me with the ability to make 3 dimensional paintings and drawings.
I put my art aside for years, raising a family and eventually going back to school to earn a Certificate in Paralegal Studies and an Associates Degree in Landscape Design and Ornamental Horticulture. I pursued my horticulture degree in hopes that I could illustrate plant books, so I’m thrilled to be painting flowers for this show.
I have had many jobs over the years and in 2017 I left my job of 10 years as a Medical Office Manager to pursue my art full time.
I enjoy working in many mediums including, acrylic, pencil, pen and ink, watercolors and photography.
To date I have shown my work in many shows around Vermont and have pieces in private collections as far away as Hawaii.
I also enjoy making custom hand painted signs, and I’ve made many signs for friends on the lake and elsewhere.
My husband Paul and I have grown children and many grandchildren and split our time between homes in Randolph and Woodbury Lake.
