Poets Kimberly Burwick, Kevin Goodnan, April Ossman Will Read & Discuss Their Work

January 21, 2020 @6:00 pm

Poets Kimberly Burwick and Kevin Goodan will join April Ossmann for a poetry reading and Q&A with the audience on Tuesday, January 21, at 6 pm at the Norman Williams Public Library (Woodstock, VT). Ossmann, whose work is beloved here in Vermont and widely recognized around the country, will introduce two of her favorite poets to the NWPL audience.

“I’ve known Kevin and loved his poetry since I published his first book at Alice James Books, and Kim’s since meeting her, thanks to Kevin,” April says. “They moved to Idaho for a few years, and recently moved back to New England, to Meriden, NH. I am delighted to have them nearby, and excited to introduce them and their excellent poetry to the local poetry-loving community.”

April Ossmann is author of Event Boundaries, a 2018 Vermont Book Award finalist, and Anxious Music (both from Four Way Books) and has published her poetry widely in journals including Colorado Review and Harvard Review, and in anthologies. Her awards include a Vermont Arts Council Creation Grant and a Prairie Schooner Readers’ Choice Award. Former executive director of Alice James Books, she owns a poetry consulting business (www.aprilossmann.com), offering manuscript editing, publishing advice, tutorials, and workshops. She is a faculty editor for the low-residency MFA in Creative Writing Program at Sierra Nevada College. She lives in West Windsor, VT.
