NWPL Book Clubs

Children’s Book Clubs will run from 3:00 – 3:45 on the 1st and 2nd Thursday of the month beginning in November. The 1st Thursday of the month will be for younger children who read juvenile chapter books; the 2nd Thursday of the month will be for older children reading young adult books. Books have been chosen in advance so check with the Children’s Librarian for the current book title. Children do not need to participate every month. It is alright to opt in and out depending on the chosen book of the month.

YA Book Club: Batman: Nightwalker by Marie Lu, Thursday January 9, 3:00 – 3:45.

Pages Club

Following book discussions on the 1st and 2nd Thursday of the month, from 3:45 – 4:15 young library pages will help Children’s library staff with various tasks. They will reshelve books, learn how to properly use the card catalog, and help with other library jobs. Ages 9 and up, limit of 6 participants. Please sign up at the Children’s Room circulation desk or call the library at 457-2295 to register.

Culinary Kids

Join Culinary Kids once a month for a fun culinary adventure in the Children’s Room. On Thursday, December 12 we made pancakes. Attendance is limited to 10 children, so please sign up at the Children’s Room circulation desk or call 457-2295 to register. This program is open to children age 9 and up.

Tuesday Craft With Geraldine

Every Tuesday, from 3:00 – 4:30, Geraldine Fowler is leading a fun craft project in the Abbott Room. There will be a new craft each week with an assortment of crafts to choose from. Snacks will be provided. This program is open to grades 4 and up, unless with an adult caregiver.

Computer Free Wednesday

Join us each Wednesday from 3:00 – 4:30 in the Children’s Room to play classic board games. Ages 9 and up unless accompanied by an adult.

Breakout EDU

Breakout EDU is an immersive learning games platform that brings the challenge of an escape room to the library. Kids will work collaboratively and use critical thinking to solve various challenges. The Breakout Box will be set up and available to kids on Wednesdays beginning September 4.
