A book is a book is a book… No matter the format you choose to read it!
Nowadays we have plenty of options for consuming books. You can read the print edition, ink on paper, bound as a hardcover or paperback. Perhaps you prefer the large print edition.
You can download a digital print file if you have a smartphone or tablet. One big advantage of this format is that you can adjust the size of the type and the contrast for different reading conditions and needs. You can also bring along many more digitals books than bound editions if traveling!
Or you can listen to the audio edition, and you have choices here. Audiobooks on CD replaced the original Books-on-Tape and you can listen through your car’s stereo or on a CD player in your home. While books on CD are still available, many publishers have moved to digital audiobooks. These can be downloaded as an MP3 file or streamed directly (via BlueTooth) to your phone to play wherever you are. The beauty of this new format is you can transition seamlessly from one location to another without losing your place.
No matter which formats you prefer, the librarians at NWPL are happy to guide you through the myriad of options.
