NWPL “Curbside” Service Begins Week of May 18

May 8, 2020
To Our NWPL Patrons,
The Norman Williams Public Library building has been closed to the public since March 16. And every day of these past seven weeks, we have wished that the library could be open. We miss you, our patrons, and we also miss the opportunity to support our community within the walls of this historic building, particularly during these challenging times.
Like nearly every other library across the U.S., our building has been closed, but we’ve been open for you, virtually. Through online services such as e-learning, digital apps including thousands of audiobooks and e-books, online live storytimes, and digital “face-to-face” meetups, and other means, we’ve had a chance to reconnect and even to expand our services.
The library’s phased re-opening plans are informed by directives from the Governor’s Office, Vermont Department of Health, Vermont Department of Libraries, and other local, state, and federal associations. With this in mind, as well as the health and safety of our staff and patrons, we will institute a “Stage1” plan consisting of “curbside” pickup beginning Monday, May 18. Please visit our website or social media sites for further information.
When conditions allow, and we are able to once again open our building to the public, we will do so in a gradual manner. Details will be released at a later date and we ask for your patience and understanding in advance as library services are likely to be very different from what they have been in the past.
Thank you and we hope you are all well.
