Join us Friday night in the NWPL side garden for a special outdoor screening* of Brave, an award-winning animated fantasy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures.

Brave tells the story of Merida, an impulsive young lady and daughter to King Fergus and Queen Elinor,  who is determined to carve her own path in life. Defying the age-old and sacred customs, Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury with the other Scottish Lords, and in the process she stumbles upon an eccentric and wise old woman who grants her ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the true meaning of bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late.

Brave won the Academy Award, the Golden Globe, and the BAFTA Award for Best Animated Feature Film.

Brave offers young audiences and fairy tale fans a rousing, funny fantasy adventure with a distaff twist and surprising depth.” Rotten Tomatoes

The film “offers a tougher, more self-reliant heroine for an era in which princes aren’t so charming, set in a sumptuously detailed Scottish environment, where her spirit blazes bright as her fiery red hair.” Peter Debruge, Variety
