Are you ready for the eclipse? While we are not in the zone of totality, we are within easy driving distance. If you are in Woodstock, our sky will darken midafternoon on Monday, April 8.
The Horizons Observatory and NPWL are hosting a free public hour-long presentation highlighting the geometry and science of total eclipses, what to expect during totality, how to best prepare, and, most importantly, how to safely view the sun before, during, and after totality. Rob Hanson and Scott Griswold from the Observatory will join librarian Adrian Tans.
Special eclipse viewing glasses will be distributed.
Following the presentation, join us for “sun gazing” with a solar telescope and binoculars with solar filters if the sky is clear!
Free and open to all.
