From the ED: One Month Anniversary

LobsterFest2017In a few days I will celebrate my one month anniversary as the new executive director of the Norman Williams Public Library, your town library. In one short month I have met many wonderful people and been given a sincere and warm welcome to the community of Woodstock. Everywhere I go people reach out their hand to shake mine and tell me, “We are so glad you are here!” I drive home from work each evening feeling like the luckiest librarian in all the world.

The library is truly a unique and vibrant hub of activity in the community. A few days ago the entire library was filled with the beautiful, strong voices of 27 children aged 7-18 from the BarnArts Summer Youth Theatre program. An audience of over 60 appreciative fans listened as the children drummed and sang songs from their upcoming performance of The Lion King. The library is pleased to offer space to host programs or to help coordinate programs with local clubs, groups and individuals.  August is full of wonderful things to do at the library. Come find a great new book to read while you enjoy the lazy days of summer, learn how to knit, play bridge, listen to beautiful music or to make new friends.

I look forward to seeing you soon at the library or around town!

Amanda
