Norman Williams Public Library has launched a village-wide activity and we invite you to join in the fun!
The QuiRky Clues Village Treasure Hunt encourages everyone – visitors and locals alike – to explore and learn about our town. Use your cunning, clever wit, observations, and perhaps a little digging on the internet to solve the puzzle and enter to win the “treasure.”
All you need is a cell phone and a sense of adventure. The treasure hunt starts here.
Using the clues we provide, you can find the QR code card hidden around the village. These are all visible from out of doors so you can hunt even after business hours. This code will lead you back to the NWPL website for the next clue. Follow the clues until you find all the letters and enter to win the “treasure,” a QuiRky Clues Village Treasure Hunt Gift Basket that includes various offerings, seasonal items, and gift cards to local stores.
Each Treasure Hunt will run for about 2-3 months and then the codes, locations, clues, and keys will be replaced and we will start a new hunt with a new treasure at the end! The drawing will be held shortly after the hunt concludes. We will notify the winner to stop by the library to collect their prize by email.
TO PLAY:
- Click on the button below to read your first clue – a limerick to lead you to the first QR code* card.
- Using the clue, locate the card with the QR code, a 2″ square black and white card, posted somewhere in the Village.
- Scan that QR code with your phone. This brings you back to NWPL’s website where you will find the next clue.
- Use the letters in the center of the QR code when asked for the password. IMPORTANT NOTE: Be sure to take note of the letters because they are needed to both open the web page AND solve the puzzle at the end to enter to win a prize!
- Decipher the clue, find the next QR code, scan, enter the password, read the next clue, and repeat…
- When you find the final QR code of the Treasure Hunt, you will be taken to a page that asks you to unscramble the letters to form a word or phrase. (Remember all the letters in the center of the QR codes?!) This becomes your final password…
- Fill out the form with your name and contact information to enter the drawing for the Treasure. We’ll notify you if you are the winner.

*QR codes are the black and white (usually) square matrixes found on items from posters and advertisements to tags and labels. QR stands for quick-response, and that is exactly what you get! Point the camera on your phone to the QR code and you will be sent directly to a website – no need to type in an address.
