Library After Hours: Game Night

Time to unplug and play!

Has it been a while since you met your match on a board game? Do you enjoy playing cards? Are you curious to learn new games?

We are planning a Library After Hours Game Night and would love your input! Please fill out the questionnaire (or stop by the library for a printed version).

So far, suggestions include

  • Rummikub – a tile-based game for 2 to 4 players, combining elements of rummy and mahjong
  • Yamslam – for 2 to 4 players with dice and chips, a cross between Yahtzee and Poker
  • Five Crowns – for 1 to 7 players, a rummy-based game with 5 suites, 65 playing cards
  • Set – a game of visual perception, fast-paced fun that exercises the brain
  • Backgammon – 2-player board game with counters and dice on tables boards
  • Chess – an abstract strategy game for 2 players
  • Pictionary – a charades-inspired word-guessing game using drawings
  • Scrabble – a word game with tiles for 2-4 players
  • Charades – without speaking, act out a word or phrase that others can guess
  • Buffalo – a card game of quick wits and zany combinations for 2 to 8 players
  • Go – an abstract strategy board game for 2 players

We will set up tables and gather on a Thursday evening after the library closes so this is an evening for adults. This event will will be BYOB: bring your own beverages (including beer and wine); we’ll supply snacks.

Free and open to the public. We’ll pass the hat for donations in hopes this will be the first of a series of Game Nights at the library.

Please let us know what you think!
