The 13th annual Bookstock Festival of Words in Woodstock, Vermont will celebrate voices from the village green June 23, 24, and 25 th. The three-day event will feature lively activities for all ages as Woodstock welcomes authors, writers, and poets from across the country to this quintessentially New England location for interactive workshops, readings, receptions, and book signings.
This year’s theme, Voices on the Village Green, pays tribute to the history of the region and the charm of our cherished community gathering spots. For generations, village greens have served as open-air gathering posts where communities engage in celebrations and meaningful exchange. The Woodstock Village Green is an inviting and idyllic setting for storytellers and lovers of the written word to congregate for three days of prose, poems, and parties. From live music to lively discussions, Bookstock offers something for everyone, including the opportunity to shop the used book sale featuring more than 10,000 titles. Audience and authors alike will have the chance to take in the scenic Vermont landscapes and mingle among the literati at this wordy weekend in Woodstock.
Founded in 2009, Bookstock’s mission is to unite people in celebration of storytelling and the written word. Bookstock is organized by Bookstock Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Woodstock, VT, and supported by approximately 100 volunteers and local partner organizations including the Woodstock Economic Development Commission, Pentangle Arts, Norman Williams Public Library, Woodstock History Center, North Chapel, Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park, Artistree Community Arts Center, Thompson Senior Center, Yankee Bookshop, Mascoma Bank, Ottauquechee Health Foundation, The Center for Cartoon Studies, and the Pauline Davenport Children’s Fund.
