This event has been postponed until April vacation – when hopefully we won’t have a snow storm in the forecast!
Inviting students – grade 4 and older – to join us for book talks and treats during February break!
Looking for a good book to curl up with by the fire? School librarian, Joyce Yoo Babbitt, will give a book talk on the 2022/23 Golden Dome Award nominations. No need to have already read the books; Joyce will “share parts and pieces” to help you choose what you might want to read from the list.
The Vermont Golden Dome Book Award (formerly the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Book Award) was created to honor excellence in children’s literature. Each year since 1957, Vermont students in grades four through eight have selected their favorite book from a list of nominees. This year, there are twenty-five titles on the list. [LINK] It is recommended that students read at least five of the year’s nominated titles before voting. Voting takes place in the spring, generally beginning in April.
Joyce Yoo Babbitt loves spending time with her family, reading books, paddle boarding, swimming, and playing pickleball. As the Windsor Central Supervisory Union librarian at WES, TPVS, and RES, she also enjoys sharing good stories, finding great digital resources, and supporting students in their research.
