Friends of the Norman Williams Public Library
The Norman Williams Public Library is pleased to invite you to join the FRIENDS OF THE NORMAN WILLIAMS LIBRARY, a non-profit tax deductible organization formed for the benefit of the Library. We hope to provide special auxillary programs, activities and events that will augment the Library’s mission to enrich the intellectual and cultural life of the greater Woodstock community.
The Library needs the support and contributions of many friends to provide our excellent access to literature, culture, current information and technology. Many people are unaware that the Library receives most of its funding through private donations and not through state or town budgeting. We support all fundraising activities at the Library and we ask that you join us and become a Friend so that together we can help the Library provide a home away from home for all the vitality, creativity, energy and kindness that makes our area so wonderfully hospitable.
In 2014, we have had brainstorming sessions, social get togethers, a presentation from a guest speaker on the highly successful Friends group in East Orleans, Massachusetts and a wonderful Meet the Author event with Meg Noonan Lukens who wrote the brilliant book The Coat Route. Future hopes and plans include a Book Group, a current events discussion group, mystery lovers and film buff sharing programs, a foodie panel, an art symposium, dramatic presentations – all the things that make the Library the heart and soul of a dynamic and exciting environment But we need you!
