Policing VT: Law Enforcement Complexities in a Rural State

Law enforcement in Vermont is a challenging endeavor. Towns such as Woodstock have their own Police Departments, Sheriffs add their own specialized services. But the largest part of Vermont’s law enforcement coverage is provided by the Vermont State Police responsible for 90 percent of the State’s land mass, 50 percent of the population, and 200 towns. Sarwar Kashmeri of Norwich University leads a lively panel discussion on this hot topic.
