During this past week of holidays and severe storms, the library ended up being closed for the better part of a week. This seems to be a good time to review how we communicate such information to the public.
Holidays throughout the year are listed on our website here. For easy access, there is now a link to this page from the hours shown on our home page. This January we will be closed Monday/Tuesday, January 1/2 for the New Year holiday and then again on Monday, January 15 to honor Martin Luther King, Jr.
As for weather-related closure, we try to get this information out in as many places as possible. We post a notice on our website, on Facebook, and we change our phone message reflecting the closure. When school is in session, we generally follow the school closure decisions, but not always. Occasionally we will remain open during a school snow day. It is best to check our website, Facebook, or phone message for current information.
